The breast pathology service of anatomic pathology provides pathology support to the wide variety of clinicians involved in the diagnosis and treatment of breast disease at UNMC and Nebraska Medicine. Headed by Subodh Lele M.D., and with the expertise of other staff pathologists, this service is the source of pathology consultative services for difficult breast lesions for a variety of pathologists in Nebraska and surrounding states. The breast pathology section not only provides diagnostic support in this area, but also routinely interacts with the breast surgeons, radiologists, radiation therapists, oncologists and nurse specialists at weekly multidisciplinary clinical conferences where difficult cases of breast cancer and breast disease are discussed in detail in search of the best care for patients.
